Quick Tip | Spotlight Keyboard Shortcuts

Spotlight is great feature that was implemented in OS X with the release of Tiger.  Spotlight allows  you to easily and quickly find any file you have on your computer.  It will parse through file names, meta data, folder names, anything it can use to identify what your looking for.  Here are some quick keyboard shortcuts for making spotlight work even faster for you.

Open Spotlight - Command + Space bar

Open Spotlight Menu - Command + Option + Space bar

Inside of Spotlight : Launch Top Result - Command +  Return

Show results in Finder - Command + Mouse Click

Skip to the First result in each category - Command + Up/Down

Clear Spotlight Search Field - Escape clears the search field, Escape a second time closes Spotlight
