A new version of Vienna RSS reader has just been released, and its great. Vienna is by far the best RSS reader that I have found on the Mac that is free. Newsfire is a really good one as well but costs some money. My favorite new feature in Vienna is one that I have been wanting since the first time I used it. Implementing a folder system so that you can keep all similar RSS feeds organized. Version 2.1.1 has done a great job of this allowing you to select the folder and view all feeds at once from that folder, or you can expand it and see the feeds by individual site.
One thing I dont like about the folders is that you are able to delete them using the delete key on the keyboard. The reason for this is I have a lot of feeds and only read about 20% of the posts. The rest of the time I just skim the title and if it doesnt catch my attention its deleted immediately with the delete key and I move on to the next one. When you get to the last feed in that folder and hit delete one to many times you are presented with a dialogue box asking if you want to delete the folder and all of the feeds within it. Then I have to stop and hit cancel with the mouse because of course I dont want to delete the folder. Only a minor annoyance but I think removing the ability to delete the folder with the delete key and requiring you to right click on it with the mouse would be better.

Another new addition is that when you close Vienna you are asked if you want to delete all of the feeds in the trash. I usually dont remember to go in and delete the trash so this is a nice added feature because when you get a good number built up in the trash you can start to see a slow down with overall speed in the reader.
