Trampoline | Visual Application Launcher for OS X

trampolineTrampoline isn’t just another boring application launcher for OS X.  I’ve been a fan of TigerLaunch for a while, and until now haven’t had any real reason to switch over to a different one.  They are all very similar and boring with a standard menu bar icon and drop down menu for you to select your app from.

Trampoline puts the mac feeling back in to the words application launcher.  Trampoline remains hidden at all times until you’re ready to launch a new application.  With a quick hot key command (option+space by default) a nice looking sphere appears wherever your mouse is and displays a set of applications that you have full control over.

The interface is really cool and breaks the norm of “application launching”.  The size of the circle grows to accommodate the number of applications you pick to display, which if you have an excessive amount, it can be come somewhat difficult to find the one your looking for.  Keeping the most frequently used apps in your doc for easy access in combination with trampoline for the apps you use on a somewhat regular basis allows for the best functionality.

Using the hot key combination allows for quick access to trampoline, but you can also set it to activate using a third mouse button, or using the scroll wheel click if your mouse has those cababilities.  Having all of the applications you need at the click of a button all but elminates the need to navigate through the Finder.

If your looking for a way to save space in the dock, but still have easy access to your apps, Trampoline has become my new favorite and is definetly worth checking out.
