The default icons for your desktop in OS X are set to be rather small, especially if you have a monitor with a pretty high resolution. Changing the size of your desktop icons is a really simple process that some may not be aware is possible.Â
I believe the default setting is something like 32×32, but there are a total of 8 different sizes available to choose from ranging from super small, absurdly huge. I kind of like my icons to be a little more on the large size just because I like the way it looks, and its easier to click on them.Â
To start customizing your desktop icon size, just right click (or command click) on the desktop and select “view options”. You will get a window that looks like the one below:
