PodTube | Download videos from YouTube DailyMotion & MySpace

podtubeI’ve written previously about a few apps that will let you download videos from YouTube pretty easily such as GetTube and TubeSock. PodTube is another alternative and was first launched back in August of 2006. PodTube is now at version 2.1 and has added support for FLV2 flash video which allows you to download any video from YouTube, MySpace, or DailyMotion and save it directly to your Mac. Podtube also lets you convert the video into an iPod compatible format. This also means that if you have an Apple TV, you can watch your favorite dancing midget or Numa Numa dance video on the big screen.

The newest version of PodTube allows you to download the videos to any folder on your Mac, not just your desktop. The UI has been updated and is a sleek looking black floating window. PodTube also allows you to choose from 3 levels of quality for encoding the video. PodTube is $4.99 to buy, but offers a free demo allowing you to download up to 5 videos before the trial stops working.
