
KPSaver isnt really an application, but it’s still worth checking out. If you’re unaware, a kernal panic is similar to the Windows blue screen of death except its typically much much worse. I’ve never gotten one, and most people usually dont, but if you do see this screen you can expect some trouble to follow. The video in the link below shows a demo of the screensaver being innitiated. You can see that it freezes anything thats moving on the screen such as a video, and fades out the screen to present the message. This is exactly what happens when you recieve a real Kernel Panic in OS X.Â
If you have access to someones computer while they are away, this could be a pretty mean trick to play on them just so you could watch their reaction. I imagine it would go something like: confused look on face, wide eyes after reading the message, some form of explicatives, hold down power button to turn off computer , begin cold sweat and pain in stomach hoping that it boots up normally, you laughing in the corner, them hating you for a few minutes.
