Can someone please tell me if it's now possible to transfer the music from my Mac-formatted OLD (3rd generation) iPod to my Windows PC without being a techie? My iPod was a gift years ago and the giver transferred all the music from his Mac, so my iPod is now formatted for a Mac...but I have a Windows PC. I can't import anything from my PC iTunes account unless I reformat my iPod for a PC, and if I do that, I'll lose all the great tunes on the iPod now. This is a bummer, and I'm not tech-savvy enough to find workarounds or handle glitches. Thanks for any helpful information.

I downloaded the free download of irip for mac and now there is an irip registration icon on my screen. I want to remove irip from my computer so I try to drag the icon to the trash icon but it says I can not remove it because irip is still open. How do I close irip and then how do I remove it from my computer?

Basically irip does not work-it downloaded for like 3 days only to uninstall my itunes and none of the music can be located from the download. It is just a scam to get your money.

For Mac user:
as you launch iRip

hold down the 'OPTION' and the 'COMMAND' keys simultaneously

this changes the iTunes into a 'safe mode' and prevents the sync process
iRip should do the rest

Hey Guys,

after reading the majority of these comments, do your research before buying any of these products, and try to find out how to it for free...

Check out this link:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/250743

This will show you how to do it without any software.

One problem that will happen everytime, no matter what, is this: if you have a Mac formatted iPod and you're trying to get the music onto your Windows operating system, it will not work. It works the other way around though. eg. Windows formatted iPod to Mac OS. So if you have a Mac formatted iPod, find a Mac OS to connect your iPod to, go to the website above and follow the steps, then you will have to transfer the songs to an external hard drive, then copy from there onto to your Windows. I know its long, but it works.

Anyway, hope this helps : )

Peace

It won't be a problem if you use AVCWare iPod to iPod/Computer/iTunes Transfer.
It automatically transfers your iPod and iPhone music, video, playlist, photos to computer and iTunes. Backup all your music and video in a couple of clicks. Really makes music and videos sharing pretty simple and enjoyable. Wish this can help and good luck.

I think its step by step guide is most helpful.

I downloaded iRip to my desktop and when clicked to run it states that it needs to click the "repair" button. After going through all the step I still get the same message when I try to activate it and register. What is going on and how may I get this to work?
