iEatBrainz is a free ID3 tagger ported over to the mac from the popular PC application called MusicBrainz. The software uses some fancy words that I dont understand such as music fingerprints to identify the MP3 in question. It compares this so called fingerprint with its huge database of music so that you can quickly and pretty darn accurately update all fields of your ID3 tags for your MP3s all at once.
If you’re unsure of what an ID3 tag is, it is the Meta data stored for each mp3 file that a player, such as iTunes, uses to display the artist name, song name, album, genere and all that good stuff. iEatBrainz will check for the location of your MP3s and show you a listing of each file with its respective ID3 data. You can then select the ones you’d like to update and add them to the list.

It takes about 1-2 seconds per song for iEatBrainz to check against its database so if you have a few thousand songs and tell them to check them all at once, be prepared for a good little wait before it finishes. I recommended doing it in little sections at the time. This will allow you to check the songs against the database and approve/disapprove the changes.
For the most part the songs it recommends are correct and it will update the tags automatically quickly and easily. But just be careful not to accidently overwrite songs with the wrong tag.
