Do you have files on your computer that you dont want anyone else to have access to? Maybe you share a computer with a family member or roommate and have some personal files that only you should see. iCrypt is perfect solution for file encryption on OS X.
Encrypting a file using iCrypt couldn’t be any more simple. Just start up the app, drag the file you want to encrypt onto the iCrypt icon in the dock and it will ask you what password you want to use to protect the file. Once it’s set, you will get an iCrypt file on the desktop.

Once you have the encrypted file on the desktop all you have to do is double click on it and enter in the password you set up to decrypt it back to its original state.  If you try to open the file and enter the wrong password it will create a file on the desktop that is filled with gibberish and your personal file is kept safe. The encrypted file is 128 bit which isnt the most secure, but will certainly foil most people’s attempts at accessing the information.
