Growl Mail | Mail.app plugin to Display Growl eMail Notifications

Posted by Scott | April 25, 2007 .

I’ve written previously about a email notification plugin for Apple Mail notifications that displayed a transparent pop up window with a excerpt of the message as well as who it was from. The makers of Growl have now made a plugin for Apple Mail to make it compatible with the growl notification software. GrowlMail will use your current settings for Growl to display all incoming email messages. It shows Sender, email address, subject, and a portion of the content.

To install GrowlMail:

  • Download the plugin (link below)
  • Quit Mail
  • Open the .dmg file you downloaded and open up the GrowlMail package located in the extras folder.
  • Restart Apple Mail

Once you’ve got Mail back up and running, go into the preferences and you will find a new tab for GrowlMail. Here you will be able to set what types of emails you would like to be notified of as well as disable or enable GrowlMail should you decide you dont want it anymore

Download the GrowlMail Plugin for Apple Mail to enable email notifications
