AppZapper | Uninstaller for Any Mac Application

I was cleaning off some things that I dont use anymore and decided that my next little gem to post on would be AppZapper. If you download a lot of different software to check out on the mac (and you should since I provide you with such an abundance to choose from) then you will know often times many files will be left behind taking up perfectly good space on your harddrive when you go to uninstall them.

Uninstalling an application in OS X is a pretty simple task in that all you have to do is drag it to the trash bin. Well the same theory applies with AppZapper, but no files are left behind. It will catch all of the preference settings, library files, cached files and anything else that is placed on the hard drive during the install. Often times this results in an extra couple of megabytes being recoverd and thats just enough space for one more mp3 to be copied from your iPod.

The user interface is about as simple as it gets with a box for you to drag the app to from your applications folder. Once you drag it over, the complete list of files will be shown along with their size. From here you just click on “zap” and your screen flashes and the files are gone along with a cool little gun blasting noise.

Download: AppZapper 1.8.0

I’ve already deleted several applications that I’ve downloaded without using a program like AppZapper. I probably have several stray files lurking about my computer and am wondering how I can delete those. Even finding them would help.
