Some people like having 100 applications showing in their dock, but I for one can’t stand it. I don’t want to spend time looking for the application I want to use, so I keep on the apps I use the most in the dock. However, it is a pain to go through the Finder to find a random application that you want to use. TigerLaunch application launcher is the perfect solution. It’s a light weight app that sits in your menu bar at the top of the screen and will display a list of any application you want.

By default, TigerLaunch will list all of the applications that you have in the Applications folder, but it also offers a pretty easy way to trim the list down to only the programs you want to see. It works very similar to the Start button in Windows, and is one feature that I’m surprised Apple has left out of the OS. So if you have recently switched from a PC to a Mac and really feel akward without your precious Start button, this may help you feel a little more at home. Or if you’re like me and use a pretty wide variety of applications, but don’t want to always see them listed in the dock, then TigerLaunch is a must have. And best of all its free!
