What are you looking at?

Posted by Scott | October 25, 2006 .

Does anyone actually go to websites anymore other than shopping? I have a whole bunch of RSS feeds that I get and am always looking for more good sources of information that I probably dont really need to know. Here are a few of sites that I check daily through the time saving RSS feeds :

  • AntiRebate - cheap merchandise with no rebates required
  • CNN - homepage, enterntainment, and technology sections
  • Digg - Entertainment, Gaming, Technology, and Television sections
  • Endgadget - Lots of technology posts
  • Kotaku - Gaming news
  • Lost - various lost feeds to keep up to date and help build our empire.
  • Lifehacker - daily tips to help you out in life using technology
  • Mac - various mac news sites
  • Mashable - web2.0 start up news
  • SEO - various SEO sites
  • ProBlogger - how to make money with your blog
  • Slickdeals - more discounted stuff online
  • Techbargains - cheap tech stuff
  • TechCrunch - Internet technology company information
  • The Onion - News written in a funny way that for some reason reminds me of Brent Brandow
  • The Superficial - Making fun of celebrities is always fun
  • USA Today - more news
  • Wired News - tech news

I also of course have feeds for all of the saucebox pages, but that was a given and didnt need to be listed. So what sites do you typically look at on a normal basis?

Will, we know all know the types of sites you look at, so no need for you to list all them.

I spend most of my time on Flickr so I have several feeds from contacts that upload photos almost daily.

I’ve tried twice to get into myspace but I just can’t do it. However I really liked myspace the first 3 times it was out when it was called CompuServe, AOL and Geocities.com (sorry Brent, I stole one of your standard joke formats)

Reddit.com is a techie news feed

digital-photography-school.com/blog has some good post for using digital SLRs.

Jeremy Zawondy. A yahoo geek and pilot

Philip Greenspun (blogs.law.harvard.edu/philg/) some Harvard/MIT geek who is also a pilot and camera junkie.

www.37signals.com/svn - use to be a really good blog now they’re kinda full of themselves. Still a good read.

Dude, thanks for the list, there’re some on the list I’ve never heard of and am glad I go to know.

Oh yeah, don’t go to The Onion, Slate Magazine (slate.com) is better.

In addition to The Superficial, The Onion and all The Saucebox and Saucebox sympathizer’s pages i usually check out:

craigslist - this is a source of high comedy

woot.com - funniest copy on the interwebs

statefans.com - because i love to torture myself

I also waste a lot of time on IMDB and wikipedia because i like to read and retain useless information.
