Weight Gaining Marathon

Growing up, I’ve always been the skinny kid, had all the names called to me. Even new ones made up such as “little Jew boy” due to watching a movie on the holocaust and someone saying “Hey, Scott is as skinny as that guy” which I thought was a not so nice thing to say. But I dealt with it, and instead of being embarrassed or ashamed of my skinny stature, I embraced it. I joked along with them, but now the joke is over. I have tried before to gain weight and been someone successful considering my 120 pound weight at high school graduation has now increased, as you can see with the scale to the right a stout 149 lbs. I have decided, with this holiday season, which is usually filled with a whole lot of eating that I am going to take on a strenuous weight gaining plan of action. My goal is to reach 175 pounds and to enter a weight class known as “Normal”. I have thought about it and realized that there are a few reasons of why I don’t gain weight, and have come up with a strategy to achieve my goal.
1. Start eating breakfast every morning. Until now I haven’t ever really eaten breakfast.
2. Start lifting weights. Until now ..well yea I just never really did that.
3. Eat healthier. If you know me at all, then you know my staple meal is either peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, or hot dogs. Neither of which can possibly provide any nourishment.
4. Weight gainer. I tried this in college and had a little success. Probably because instead of using water to mix it like it suggested, I used whole milk, ice cream, and chocolate syrup.
5. Running. I need the exercise, and my dog drives me nuts if he doesn’t get his. So this will be a good solution for us both.
Those are the top 5 things I came up with that I think will make the difference in me reaching 175 and beyond. If you have any other suggestions for me leave them in a comment. Now all I need is some Eye of the Tiger Rocky music, and a little determination and I’ll be a beefcake in no time. I’ll be updating the scales tracking my progress every so often, so stay tuned and be prepared for a new Scott.
