Brent doesnt like my technology posts, so I think im going to go back to making fun of things for a while. I saw this story and had a few thoughts about it.
Apparently, gang members are not the only people in the world that battle it out over turf they control. Today in Bolivia, rival bands of miners began throwing dynamite at each other trying to proclaim their dominance over their precious tin mine. Dynamite?? really? This is a scene I surely would have like to watch from a distance.
Can you imagine a bunch of men dressed like the image below lighting sticks of dynamite and throwing them at other grown men who are doing the same thing.
11 people have been killed, and 50 injured in the turf war. Thursday night the fight stopped long enough to burry the dead. Which shouldnt have been to hard considering its a mine…and dynamite is going off every where creating holes for you. Once the fighting picked back up, one side loaded up 3 tires packed full of dynamite and rolled it down the hill causing a large explosion. I dont know the outcome of the fight because the article was long and I got tired of reading it, but thats not the point im getting at. When I read this story I immediately thought this is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. I never imagined companies taking to fisticuffs over territory like this. My second thought was what if every industry had these types of wars with each other using their equipment like the miners did with dynamite.
Well I thought about it, and decided SEO fights wouldnt be very exciting. It would be companies exchanging (key)words with each other that have been stemmed out and then a full analysis of who had the best words would be conducted.
So what industry are you in and what type of fight would you be involved in if it really came down to it and you had to win the fight to keep your job like these brave men in Bolivia are having to do?
