Blades of Glory - Greatest Movie of 2007

blades of gloryAs I sit watching the stupid Real World/Road Rules challenge because nothing else is on, I am presented with a preview for what looks to be one of the greatest movies to grace the silver screen in 2007. Basically, its impossible for this movie to be a failure simply due to the cast. Blades of Glory will star Will Ferrell, Jon Heder (Napolean Dynamite), and Craig Nelson (the guy from Coach).

Fresh off of making fun of us southerners and the “sport” of NASCAR, Will Ferrell will now move on to the “sport” of male figure skating with his arch enemy on the ice Jon Heder. The two are banned from figure skating and are forced to form the first male/male figure skating duo and climb the ranks back to the top.

An official synopsis of the movie is as follows:

“…two male figure skating rivals aching to compete despite having been banned from the sport as a result of a nasty row at the 2002 Winter Olympics. When they discover a loophole that will allow them to perform together in the pairs figure skating category, they determine to put their differences aside for the sake or their gold medal aspiriations.”

Between Ben Stiller and Will Ferrell, Dodgeball, then Nascar, and now figure skating have all been made fun of. I for one can only hope that the next sport they decide to make fun of is competitive blogging.
