Cause and Effects of Acne.

Posted by Scott | April 29, 2006 .

Acne is chronic disorder, very common among early teenagers both male and female, of the hair follicles and sebaceous glands. Acne is characterized by black heads, pimple outbreaks, cysts, infected abscesses, and (sometimes) scarring.

The most common effects of acne are bumps, irritation, and inflamation that occurs normally on the face and back. There are many different ideas on how to treat and prevent acne ranging from using toothpaiste on the specific areas of acne, to just plain soap and water. The amount of prevention varies between each person, due to the fact that some people glands over produce oil causing the acne to form, while others do not have the problem at all.

Acne can be defined as just “another term for pimples and complexion problems which occur in young people and some adults. Inflammation of the oil glands in the skin due to an over sensitivity to the normal level of hormones in the body. Pimples usually occur on the face, but may involve the neck, chest, back and upper arms. Acne is only a skin problem and does not affect your general health.”

Acne normally is only a problem in teens and adolecents and clears up in the early adult hood years. Although there are some cases were adults are affected as well. You may want to speak with a dermatologist to find out what steps are right for you in order to clear up your acne, but for the most part just a daily cleansing of the face can in most cases prevent acne from forming.
